Lorch has won a number of trophies during his time with Orlando Pirates; however, it is the league title that continued to elude him.
It would take a sensational January switch to Mamelodi Sundowns for that dream to materialize and now three months after joining the Chloorkop-based outfit, Lorch has managed to taste league success.
The 30-year-old played his part in Sundowns' second stretch of the season and rounded off the scoring with a well taken header in their 5-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday afternoon.
Reacting to his first league win, Lorch says he understood the importance the league posed to Sundowns the moment he set foot at the club.
"I knew that when I came here, the first thing is to win the league. Because I’ve never won a league before, I’ve won other cups but I’ve never won a league before,” he told the club’s official media department.
“I’m happy and I’m grateful for the opportunity,” he said.
Echoing his sentiments was another player who managed to bag his maiden league title in Tashreeq Matthews. The speedy attacker joined the Brazilians in January from Swedish side, IK Sirius.
“It’s my first league title that I’ve ever won in my professional career and [it’s] exciting. The joy is there, excitement is there and I just can’t wait to lift the trophy,” Matthews added.
